Gales Move on to Round 3
Tuesday, September 28th , 2049
The Galway Gales took time to celebrate with the Galway fans who stuck around after the game, following the team's Round 2 triumph over the Vung Tau Vipers.

Members of the Gales hung around chatting, high-fiving and taking pictures with the Galway fans in attendance at Gales Ballpark, long after the last pitch had been thrown in their 6-1 win to seal the series 4-2.

"We've got great fan support," said right fielder Willie Martinez. "Whether we're at home or on the road, the fans support us. So we wanted to show them how important that is to us. Some Vung Tau fans that were there even congratulated us on the win."

For the series, Martinez hit .556 with a .571 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, 2 RBI and scored 3 runs.

Things weren't so cordial on the Vipers side of things. Their clubhouse was closed to media after the game and all players and coaches quickly dressed and left the stadium after the end to their season.

The Galway Gales don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Baltimore Jaspers - Seattle Airhogs series. Seattle leads the series 3 games to 2. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.
