Baltimore Moves on to Round 2

The Baltimore Jaspers and Hillsboro Hops hooked up in a classic Round 1 that went right down to the wire.

In the end, it's Baltimore heading off to the Round 2, after a 6-3 win at Ballpark of Baltimore tonight earned the 4-3 series win.

Outside Ballpark of Baltimore, whether they were supporters of Baltimore or Hillsboro, many fans talked about how it was a series they would never forget.

Mike Gummere played the hero for the Jaspers in the series, as his MVP performance included a .455 batting average, with a .571 on-base percentage. He also had 1 home runs, 6 RBI and scored 8 runs.

The Baltimore Jaspers will play against the Seattle Airhogs in the next round. Seattle won their series against the Hartford Defenders 4 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.

Vung Tau Takes Round 1

The Vung Tau Vipers have booked their place in the Round 2.

By a score of 6-1, the club ousted the San Jose Sabercats in the Round 1 tonight at Vung Tau Diamond.

Vung Tau won the series by a 4-2 margin. The series MVP was Vipers right fielder Peter Beckstead.

For his part, the MVP said he is not putting too much stock in the individual honor and instead simply "looking forward to the next round."

The Vung Tau Vipers will play against the Galway Gales in the next round. Galway won their series against the Omaha Steaks 4 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
