5-Hit Barrage by Blend Friday, May 30th , 2053 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Michael Blend -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Rattlers Stadium and paced the 8-5 Imperials win over the Reno Rattlers. After his dynamite batting performance, the Cloverleaf center fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Michael Blend singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off William Dibene in the 8th. So far this season, Blend has gotten 42 hits in 143 at-bats for a .294 batting average with 5 home runs. His stats include 24 RBIs and 13 runs scored. He has played in 37 games. View Boxscore |
