Sanchez Ups Hit Streak to 20 Consecutive Games
Tuesday, July 25th , 2051
The streak is alive and well -- at least for today.
Reynaldo Sanchez did it again, bashing 2 hits in the contest at Spinners Grove. For the last 20 games in a row, the 24-year-old first baseman has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Calgary Winter beat the Georgetown Spinners, 14-13.
"I'm happy I kept the streak going," Sanchez told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Calgary clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Reynaldo Sanchez struck out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Eric Kloc in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, struck out in the 7th, flied out in the 9th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 9th.
For the year, Sanchez is batting .402 with 139 hits and 31 home runs. He has scored 83 times and driven in 87.
