Mannis Belts Bunch of Base Hits Thursday, July 22nd , 2049 The 5th time is the charm -- at least for Kevin Mannis. The shortstop for the Grosse Pointe Better Mades hit the milestone against the Can Tho Cobras, helping his club to a narrow 11-10 victory. Mannis finished with a 5-for-6 line at the plate. "Mannis was a tough out," Can Tho manager Esteve Varanda told the press in the postgame interview. "If it weren't for him, I think we had this one." Kevin Mannis singled in the 1st, was hit by a pitch in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and flied out in the 10th.
