After a 5-hit effort to lead Oklahoma City's 9-8 victory over the Kalamazoo Kings, second baseman Marko Djapic told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the CBD Rookie League-level is really something special."

The 19-year-old player earned his accolades at Lansing Ballpark with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Kings.

"His swing is getting there," said Hooks skipper Chris Ouverson, who spoke glowingly of Djapic after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Marko did that to perfection."

Marko Djapic singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Bryan Ferdinand in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Josh Martino in the 8th and singled in the 10th.

For the year, Djapic has hit at a .368 clip with 18 RBIs, 5 home runs and 13 runs scored.
