Orange Sox Heading to Round 2
Thursday, September 14th , 2051
The Round 1 may not have lived up to the expectation that it would be a dogfight that would go the distance. The Fresno Orange Sox, however, are not complaining.
The Orange Sox were plenty happy to have wrapped up the series early and to have knocked out the Key West Lime Pies to advance to the Round 2.
Fresno won the final game by a 11-7 count at Lime Pies Ballpark and the series 4-1.
Orange Sox shortstop Steve Spring was named series MVP, as he hit .476 with a .522 on-base percentage. He added 1 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 6 runs.
"It's not going to be the last time Key West makes it to the playoffs, so it's sure a nice feeling to put them out this year," Spring said. "We just need to keep this going and take it day by day."
The Fresno Orange Sox don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Glendale Skeeters - Tucson Ocelot series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
