Defenders End Castillo Streak
Tuesday, September 6th , 2050
Bob Castillo, first baseman for the Tucson Ocelot, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 3 tries against the Hartford Defenders. Not only did the Defenders break his 20-game hitting streak, they also beat Tucson by the score of 4-2.
"Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Castillo said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate."
So far this season, Castillo has gotten 160 hits in 507 at-bats for a .316 batting average with 18 home runs. His stats include 47 RBIs and 71 runs scored. He has played in 123 games.
