League Suspends Bolger and Huckaby for Fisticuffs
Saturday, August 3rd , 2047
Yesterday at Harrisburg Ballpark Vince Bolger and Cody Huckaby got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Seattle Airhogs and Harrisburg Senators. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game.
Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Bolger will have to sit out 4 while Huckaby would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl.
This season, Bolger is batting .267 with 100 hits, 13 home runs, 44 RBIs, .360 OBP and has scored 44 runs.
Taking a look at his season stats for 2047, Huckaby has made 8 relief appearances, recorded 1 save and compiled a 0-0 won-lost mark with a 2.65 ERA. In pitching 17 innings, he has totaled 10 strikeouts and 2 walks.
