Bertsch Is King of Swing: Goes Deep 3 Times Sunday, August 4th , 2041 It was a good day for the Hartford Defenders and an exceptional one for Ken Bertsch. The 24-year-old shortstop sent three bombs out of the park to help the Defenders beat the Harrisburg Senators 14-3 at Harrisburg Ballpark. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Bertsch said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 4 runs and smacked 4 hits in 4 at-bats. Ken Bertsch hit a two-run home run off Danny Shaver in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Bill Estrada in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 7th and doubled in the 8th.
