Hartford Takes Round 1 Wednesday, September 11th , 2052 The Hartford Defenders "proved we can handle pressure" by beating the Round 1 and eliminating the Tucson Ocelot, according to series MVP Ryan Giordani. "This is the big stage, we're off to the Round 2 and looking towards the Round 3," he said. "There's a lot of pressure at this time of year and it's only going to get more intense from here. But I think we can handle it just fine." Hartford won the final game 6-1, to wrap up the series 4-1. Giordani led his team to the series win by putting up a .350 average, with a .458 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 8 runs. The Hartford Defenders don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Hillsboro Hops - Omaha Steaks series. Omaha leads the series 3 games to 2.
