Arizona's Slater Gets 2000th Hit Sunday, October 4th , 2048 J.P. Slater of the Arizona Desert Storm collected career hit number 2000 against the Dublin Porters today. The 34-year-old center fielder went 1 for 1 in a 6-5 Arizona victory at Porters Ballpark. A check of his lifetime stats shows Slater has a career .305 average with 2000 hits, 523 doubles, 106 triples, 48 home runs and 708 RBIs.
