Webster Raps 300th Roundtripper
Sunday, July 31st , 2050
Back-back-back-gone! Mike Webster hit his 300th home run tonight against the Waikiki Wayfinders.
Webster, of the Portland Beavers, smiled as he rounded all the bases and got mobbed by his teammates at home plate.
The game did stop momentarily as the Beavers celebrated this accomplishment.
"I was swinging for the fences and the pitch looked like a giant grape fruit," Webster said. "This is another check off my bucket list. I'll now be setting my sights the next milestone."
The Beavers designated hitter went 2 for 5 with 1 home run and 1 RBI as the Portland Beavers won 5-3 over the Waikiki Wayfinders.
In 1599 games Webster has a career .259 batting average and a .332 on-base percentage. He has hit 300 home runs with 910 RBIs and 848 runs scored.
