Waikiki Loses, 5-3, to Portland in 10
|
The Portland Beavers defeated the Waikiki Wayfinders, 5-3. Right Fielder Ethan Breaux deserved a large share of the credit. Breaux was 2-6 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for the Beavers. Miguel Romero got credit for the win, improving to 6-8. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. At 54-50, the Beavers find themselves in second place in the Alliance League Dimwits Division.
Breaux had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a first pitch fastball from Miguel Rios, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Beavers a 5-3 lead. It was the 23rd home run of the year for Breaux.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Breaux said.
