Knights Score Late, Clip Buffalo, 3-2
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Brooklyn Knights and Buffalo Buffalo.
The Brooklyn Knights rode a solid performance from 30-year-old starting pitcher Manny Aguayo to a win, beating the Buffalo Buffalo, 3-2, at The Greenhouse. Justin Gray picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 4-6. Randy Nelson suffered the loss.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Esteban Gonzalez? The 28-year old right fielder Gonzalez stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put Brooklyn up, 3-2. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"Bottom line," said Buffalo skipper Jim Punk42ae, "we didn't play well enough to win."
The defeat makes Buffalo 49-56.
