Evan King Records 300th Save, Tames Arizona, 8-5
Sunday, September 20th , 2048
Today was a historic day at Desert Storm Stadium in Kyiv. Once again the gifted bullpen specialist Evan King calmly did what he has done over and over -- he saved the game for the Kyiv Cossacks. The 8-5 victory over the Arizona Desert Storm was his 300th-career save and placed his name among the great relievers in baseball. King nailed down the verdict by holding the opposition to no runs and 1 hit in his 1 innings.
After the final out, King dropped to his knees and pointed a thankful hand toward the sky. After the game, King told reporters, "This was in tribute to my deceased grandfather, who raised me and was such an important part of my life and upbringing. He would have been very proud of me today."
Since coming into the league, King has chalked up 300 saves. In 955 games, he has registered a 76-75 won-lost record with 1347 strikeouts in 1112 innings and compiled a 2.83 ERA.
