Desert Storm 8-6 Winners Versus Lansing
|
Desert Storm first baseman Chris Nicotra left his imprint on his team's 8-6 win over the Lansing Red Storm. Nicotra went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for Arizona in the contest. Jason Walker, now 2-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. Terry Donohue picked up the save, his 40th.
Had Su-yeong Lee not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Lee hit a 2-run single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Desert Storm.
"We got the victory," said Lee. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
Arizona goes to 88-61. The win puts them 6 games up in their division.
