5-Hit Blitz by Blank
Sunday, August 13th , 2051
After a 5-hit effort to lead Yellowstone's 8-6 victory over the Brooklyn Knights, left fielder Bobby Blank told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."
"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the The Confederation of Baseball Dunces-level is really something special."
The 25-year-old player earned his accolades at Brooklyn Coliseum with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Knights.
"His swing is getting there," said Super Volcano skipper GM AtticaOnline, who spoke glowingly of Blank after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Bobby did that to perfection."
Bobby Blank doubled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Luis Lezama in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Luis Lezama in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Luis Lezama in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
This season, Blank is batting .241 with 19 home runs. He has scored 63 runs and driven in 47.
