Blueberry Bulldogs Heading to League Championship Tuesday, October 22nd , 2047 The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat were on full display tonight at Kyiv Grounds as the Divisional Series stretched to the final game. It was the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs feeling the thrill of victory, with a 7-6 win over the Kyiv Cossacks, who were feeling the devastation of coming up short in their quest to make the League Championship. "There's no way around it -- this sucks," said Kyiv manager Boris Lahutin. "Congratulations to Sudbury, but I won't sugarcoat it, no one is happy about anything that transpired here tonight." Instrumental in the 3-2 series win was left fielder Albert Bencomo, who was named MVP. He hit .471 with a .591 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 5 runs. "We've got the most important stat of all and that's this final win -- that's the one that matters," he said. The Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs will play against the Saskatchewan 92's in the next round. Saskatchewan won their series against the St. Louis Archies 3 games to 1. The League Championship schedule will be announced after the Divisional Series finishes.
