Buhrke Earns 300th Save in Desert Storm Win Over Sugar Kings Wednesday, July 5th , 2051 As he's done throughout his career, relief standout Andy Buhrke took the ball and got it done. The only difference - this save, which gave the Arizona Desert Storm a 4-1 win over the Havana Sugar Kings, was number 300 in his famed career. It's a milestone many dream about, but few reach, a fact that was hardly lost on Buhrke as he talked with reporters after the game. "I think back to when I was a teenager just hoping to get my shot in this game, and never did I think I'd be saving 300 games," he said. "It's truly an honor to achieve this, and I'm proud to put my name in the record books. I'm just glad I've had the opportunity to stick in the league long enough to accomplish this." Buhrke has appeared in 598 games during his career, saving 300 of them. His record is 52-58 and he has struck out 790 in 713 innings, while putting up a 3.23 ERA.
