Cabrera on Fire: 5-for-6 for Sudbury
Saturday, July 27th , 2047
There are moments in a player's career that they will not soon forget.
Hugo Cabrera of the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs had one such moment at Kyiv Grounds, when he went 5 for 6 at the plate. His hitting heroics weren't enough to pull out the victory, however, and Sudbury succumbed to defeat, 6-5, to the Kyiv Cossacks.
"This was quite a day for me individually, but a little disheartening at the same time," the 26-year-old first baseman told reporters in the postgame interview. "It would have been very special if we had won the game."
Hugo Cabrera struck out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Eric Hartman in the 6th, hit an RBI triple in the 8th, singled in the 10th and singled in the 13th.
In 75 games this season, Cabrera is batting .325 with 86 hits and 15 home runs. He has scored 46 runs and driven in 54.
