5-Hit Barrage by Putty Friday, August 9th , 2052 All game long, Brooklyn's Ed Putty was rattling the walls at Kyiv Grounds and banging out base hits against the Kyiv Cossacks. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Knights had a win, 3-1. Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 28-year-old first baseman said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this." Ed Putty hit a solo-shot off Hector Durazo in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 7th, doubled in the 9th, grounded out in the 11th, singled in the 13th and hit a two-run double in the 15th. Putty is hitting .271 this year with 10 home runs, 44 RBIs and 45 runs scored. He has 119 hits in 439 at-bats, 34 walks and a .333 on-base percentage. Putty has played in 109 games.
