Arizona Desert Storm starter Josh Kern found his groove in his team's 4-3 win over the Kyiv Cossacks. Arizona reliever Terry Donohue picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Jimmy Gold absorbed the loss. The Cossacks fall to 5-9 and continue their lackluster start in 2049.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 24-year old shortstop Joe Gainey had a chance to be the hero. Kyiv pitcher Jimmy Gold wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Gainey hit a sacrifice fly. The Desert Storm had themselves a thrilling win.

"This place was rockin'," Gainey said.
