Arizona Beaten, 5-1, by Memphis
|
The Memphis Chicks beat the Arizona Desert Storm, 5-1, at Desert Storm Stadium. Starting pitcher Billy Roland was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Arizona is now 5-4.
Daniel Pratley came through with a big-time hit for Memphis. The third baseman smacked a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 5-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Really good pitchers have that ability to raise their game when they need to," said Memphis manager Aaron Lazier.
