Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the St. Louis Archies and Arizona Desert Storm.
Starting pitcher Nate Edmondson pitched well enough to help the St. Louis Archies beat the Arizona Desert Storm, 7-3. Edmondson, now 8-4, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 9, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs.
Jim Stanton, who finished 3rd in the FL in batting average with .333 in 2047, aided the St. Louis cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the third baseman was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Nate has got a slow heartbeat," said St. Louis manager Terry Schneekloth. "He doesn't panic or anything."
