Hyenas Snatch Late-Game, 3-2 Win
|
Dublin got a big-time effort from pitcher Karl Gordam, but it wasn't enough to keep the East Haddam Hyenas from winning the game, 3-2. Gordam threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The winner was Sergio Bahena in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Zion Anthony took the loss. Chris Newell notched his 10th save of the season.
Jamie Stratman, the 14th overall pick in the 2048 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Stratman contributed a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put East Haddam up, 2-1.
After the game, East Haddam manager Joe Jankowski applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
East Haddam is third in the Federation League Knuckleheads Division with a record of 31-38.
