The Arizona Desert Storm finished off the Dublin Porters, 7-4. Much of the credit belonged to designated hitter Chris Nicotra. Nicotra went 2 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Desert Storm. The winning pitcher was Ron Cook. He tossed 124 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits. Esteban Vega, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities.
With Arizona leading 2-0 in the top of the third, Nicotra hit a changeup from Greg Sebera for a 3-run home run. It was his 29th home run of the season and put the Desert Storm ahead, 5-0.
"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Nicotra told the Arizona Daily.
Arizona, at 35-29, holds down second place in the Federation League Knuckleheads Division.
