Steve Maldonado kept the Traverse City Cherries hitters from doing much damage at Volcanoes Ballpark.

Traverse City could only muster 4 hits and draw 2 walks against the right-handed Maldonado, who controlled them throughout the game. Salem-Keizer won the contest, 8-0. Maldonado added 3 strikeouts in his complete-game effort.

"I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Maldonado told reporters after the shutout win. "But whatever it was, I hope it happens again next time."
