Beavers Get Hard-Earned Win
The Portland Beavers picked up a win at Bulldogs Ballpark, knocking off the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs, 5-4. On the mound for Portland was right-hander Jason Scothorn. He played a key role in the triumph. Scothorn, now 2-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing 4 runs. The loss makes Sudbury 4-2.

Portland used the timely hitting of Ethan Breaux to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Beavers on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
