Hyenas Down Takoyaki, 8-4
|
The East Haddam Hyenas topped the Osaka Takoyaki, 8-4, in 10 innings at Takoyaki Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of East Haddam pitcher Seth Martin. East Haddam reliever Chris Newell picked up the win, raising his record to 2-5. Eric Beasley was tagged with the loss. Justin Kennedy picked up his 1st save of the season.
East Haddam used the timely hitting of Jerrod Conners to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Hyenas on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We didn't go down without a fight," said Osaka manager GM KDR.
East Haddam is third in the Federation League Knuckleheads Division with a record of 27-32.
