The Buffalo Buffalo beat the Portland Beavers, 6-3, at Beavers Park. Tyler Steele, in particular, was impressive. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Andy Pittman, the winner, goes to 11-15. He allowed 3 runs on 9 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts over 9 innings. Randy Nelson collected save number 16.

Steele had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 1-0 fastball from Andy Buhrke, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Buffalo a 6-3 lead. It was the 21st home run of the year for Steele.

Steele told a Buffalo Observer reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
