Behind a fine performance from Jorge Hernandez, the Kyiv Cossacks knocked off the Arizona Desert Storm, 7-5. Hernandez was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Cossacks. Mark Powers, who is tied for 9th in the FL in innings pitched with 76.1, was the winner. He's now 8-1. The loser was Ronaldo Sardinha. The Cossacks now have a record of 33-24 with the win over Arizona.

The Cossacks got a big hit from left fielder Andy Lester. In the bottom of the sixth, Lester smacked a bases-clearing double off Arizona pitcher Ronaldo Sardinha. It was his 2nd double of the season. Suddenly, the Cossacks were ahead, 6-5.
