Caravaggio Excels in 7-2 Detroit Win
The first-place Detroit Pizzas picked up another win.

The Detroit Pizzas beat the Kyiv Cossacks, 7-2, at Pizzas Ballpark. Jose Caravaggio, in particular, was impressive. He went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Earning his 5th save for Detroit was Jorge Figueroa.

With Detroit leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Jason Irish hit a run-scoring single off Kyiv pitcher Jamie Conway. It put the Pizzas ahead 3-1.

"I thought we played a nice game," Caravaggio told the Detroit News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."

The Pizzas lead the Alliance League Boneheads Division by 4½ games.
