Starting pitcher Mark Foglesong gave the East Haddam Hyenas a rock-solid performance, helping them defeat the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs, 3-2, in 10 innings. Joe Bass, now 2-2, was credited with the win in 1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 0 and walking 0. East Haddam is now 64-88. Sudbury is 77-75.
The decisive blow was delivered by Jerrod Conners in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 28-year old right-handed pitcher Eric Barone to win the game for East Haddam. The home crowd went nuts.
"The crowd was boisterous tonight," said Conners.
