The Portland Beavers did just enough to secure a victory over the Detroit Pizzas, 6-5, in 10 innings at Pizzas Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Chris Duffy. The winner in relief was Tony Orellana. He is now 3-8. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. The defeat makes Detroit 78-73.

Portland used the timely hitting of Jody McCauley to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Beavers on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Duffy.
