Thanks in large part to catcher Mark Radford, the Osaka Takoyaki beat the St. Louis Archies, 7-5. Radford was 2-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. With the win, the Takoyaki have a record of 76-67.
Radford contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Osaka in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 3-2, Radford took a cutter from Spencer Hay and stroked the double to left-center. His 18th double of the season allowed the Takoyaki to leap in front, 4-3.
In postgame comments to the Osaka Times, Radford said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
