Ron Cook was superb against Lansing. The right-hander, who is on pace for 219 strikeouts this season, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Desert Storm victory. The score was 5-4. With the win, Arizona pushed its record to 79-64.

Kvetoslav Novy was the walk-off hero for Arizona. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Desert Storm catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Feels good to get the job done," Cook said after the game.
