The Kyiv Cossacks defeated the East Haddam Hyenas, 15-2. First Baseman Chris Nicotra deserved a large share of the credit. Nicotra went 4-5 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5 for the Cossacks. Travis Provenza, now 3-0, was credited with the win in 4.1 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. The Cossacks bumped their record to 78-63 with this latest triumph.

Nicotra got the Cossacks off to a quick start. In the top of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single.

Losing skipper Joe Jankowski called the defeat "kind of a clunker all around."
