Despite a great performance by East Haddam catcher Chris Little, the St. Louis Archies defeated the Hyenas by the score of 8-5 at Team2 Ballpark. Little went 2-3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Landon Paulick got the save, his 9th in 12 chances. The first-place Archies have won 9 straight games.

David Funk had a big 3-run home run for the Archies in the bottom of the fourth inning. With St. Louis trailing 5-4 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a sinker from 31-year old right-handed pitcher Alex Watkins and punished it. The result was his 15th home run of the season, which put the Archies on top, 7-5.

"We'll enjoy this ride as long as it lasts," said Archies manager Terry Schneekloth.
