Cossacks Collect 7-4 Win Over Hyenas
The Kyiv Cossacks cut down the East Haddam Hyenas by the score of 7-4 in 10 innings. Much of the credit went to first baseman Kelvin William. William was 2 for 5 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Cossacks. The win went to Jimmy Gold in relief, making him now 7-8. Jason Derrick took the loss for East Haddam. The Cossacks improved their record to 59-69 by beating East Haddam.

Kyiv needed the clutch hitting of Jorge Hernandez to seal the deal. The catcher swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Cossacks on top, 5-2. For the game, Hernandez had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Hernandez.
