Blueberry Bulldogs Win Nail-Biter
|
Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs starter George Wilson pitched a strong game against the East Haddam Hyenas at Ballpark of East Haddam, leading the Blueberry Bulldogs to victory, 5-4. Sudbury reliever Chris Kelliher picked up the win, upping his record to 7-3. Julio Martinez took the loss. Sudbury raised its record to 70-53 with the win.
Jose Camacho drew 1 walk in 5 plate appearances for Sudbury. With one out and the game tied in the top of the 11th inning, Camacho had a clutch at-bat. Facing East Haddam hurler Julio Martinez, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Blueberry Bulldogs a 4-3 lead.
"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said East Haddam manager Joe Jankowski.
