Santa Clara third baseman Tim Leek had a big day at Rockets Ballpark against the Glendale Skeeters. The 25-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led to the 5-4 Vanguard triumph over Glendale.

"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Leek said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."

Tim Leek singled in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Chris Aronowitz in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th, flied out in the 12th and singled in the 15th.

Thus far this year, Leek has hit .317 with 13 home runs and 31 RBIs.
