Sugardome II was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Havana Sugar Kings and Los Angeles Kings.

The Havana Sugar Kings handed the Los Angeles Kings a loss at Sugardome II. The final score was 6-5. Jason Engels was one of the major contributors for Havana. In addition to his 3 singles and 1 home run, he scored 1 run and drove in 3. Havana reliever Mark Carlson picked up the win to move to 1-1. Larry Collier suffered the loss.

Engels had an important at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the seventh, when he hit a run-scoring single. The Sugar Kings went on to win.
