Thanks in large part to shortstop Steve Sanders, the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs beat the Portland Beavers, 10-9. Sanders was 3-4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Sudbury pitcher Justin Roeber got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Andy Buhrke got the loss. The loss lowers the Portland record to 2-3.

The Blueberry Bulldogs got a clutch hit from third baseman Michel Carvalho. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Blueberry Bulldogs.

"I still think this team has room for improvement," Carvalho told the Sudbury Times.
