The Yellowstone Super Volcano besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Hanoi catcher Jason Edkin by beating the Dragon Warriors, 7-5, at Volcano Ballpark. Edkin went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Nick Abert, the winner, is now 1-0. He struck out 8 and walked 1 over 7.2 innings, while allowing 5 runs on 8 hits. Kurat Feyzioglu earned save number 15 this season.

Yellowstone shortstop Andres Jaquez contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 44th hit of the season and put the Super Volcano ahead, 6-3.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Jaquez said.
