Desert Storm Rally Late to Clip Kyiv
The Arizona Desert Storm knocked off the Kyiv Cossacks, 5-4, at Kyiv Grounds. Chris Nicotra was a big reason Arizona won. The first baseman was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. Arizona reliever Greg McDowell snagged the win, upping his record to 4-1. Oscar Aguilar shouldered the loss. Arizona currently is in third place in the Federation League Knuckleheads Division at 22-22.

Nicotra had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 2-1 changeup from Oscar Aguilar, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Desert Storm a 5-4 lead. It was the 20th home run of the year for Nicotra.

"That's what this team is about," said Nicotra, "picking each other up."
