Salcido Slams 5 Hits for Galveston
|
Joaquin Salcido was sizzling at the plate. The Galveston center fielder blistered the Colorado Springs Generals for 5 hits in 7 at-bats, but couldn't prevent his club from falling to defeat, 14-13.
"Salcido was too tough to get out today," Generals skipper Collin Walker said in a postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too. But hey, I don't mind if every game somebody gets 5 hits off us, as long as we win."
Joaquin Salcido singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 6th, struck out in the 7th, grounded out in the 9th and singled in the 11th.
So far this season, Salcido is hitting .389 with 2 home runs, 9 RBIs and 12 runs scored. He has 21 hits in 54 at-bats and a .459 OBP.
