Engels Good, But Not Good Enough, in 6-5 Loss
Jason Engels did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Havana Sugar Kings from being beaten, 6-5, to the Buffalo Buffalo at Sugardome II. Engels went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Buffalo pitcher Qing-lai King earned the win, hiking his record to 10-6. Ramon Rodriguez suffered the loss. The first-place Buffalo, at 61-46, lead the Alliance League Dimwits Division by 4 games.

Buffalo first baseman Arturo Quiroz contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 70th hit of the season and put the Buffalo ahead, 6-2.

"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Quiroz.
