Buffalo got a valiant performance from designated hitter Sam Gleghorn, but it wasn't enough to beat the Portland Beavers. Portland won the game, 5-4. Gleghorn threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The win went to Greg Lee in relief, making him now 1-0. Noah Powell took the loss for Buffalo. With the win, Portland has a record of 15-22. Buffalo falls to 18-19.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Portland right fielder Ezequiel Cruz, facing Noah Powell, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Beavers the 5-4 win.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Beavers manager GM bigbluex02. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
