Beavers Suffer 4-2 Home Defeat
|
The Waikiki Wayfinders picked up a win at Beavers Park, knocking off the Portland Beavers, 4-2. On the mound for Waikiki was left-hander Richard Arocha. He played a key role in the triumph. The winning pitcher was Arocha, now 2-1. He tossed 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. Portland drops to 16-15.
Waikiki took a 4-2 lead on Manuel Miramontes's 4th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Miramontes hit in the top of the seventh, left Portland pitcher Jason Scothorn visibly frustrated.
"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Arocha. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."
