Punchless Chicks Fall, 10-0, to Brooklyn
|
Memphis had no answer for Brooklyn Knights starter Jake Kriegel, who flummoxed Chicks hitters as the Knights cruised to victory, 10-0. The winner was Kriegel. He threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Dan Elliott. With the win, Brooklyn upped its record to 55-41.
Anton Goenaga hit a 2-run double off Dan Elliott in the bottom of the first, which put the Knights in front, 2-0. In addition to the double, Goenaga had 2 singles, while going 3 for 5.
"We didn't help ourselves, it's as simple as that," said losing manager John Griffin.
