Due in large part to right fielder Jose Caravaggio, the Detroit Pizzas sunk the Dublin Porters, 7-4. Caravaggio was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. George Liston earned the save for Detroit, his 15th of the year. The third-place Porters have dropped 4 straight games.

Detroit used a timely hit from John Herndon to get the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Pizzas ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Herndon. "And not try to do too much."
