The Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs overcame a good performance by Brooklyn first baseman Ed Putty to knock off Brooklyn, 10-9, at Bulldogs Ballpark. Putty was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5. Sudbury reliever Willie Sevilla picked up the win, upping his record to 6-1. John MacMullen was saddled with the loss. With the win over Brooklyn, the Blueberry Bulldogs improved to 48-38.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Sudbury first baseman Hugo Cabrera, facing John MacMullen, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Blueberry Bulldogs the 10-9 win.

"To not win that game stings a little bit," said Brooklyn manager Enoch Tang.
